Mittal Steel Kent Wire is a wholly owned subsidiary of Mittal Steel Hamburg, one of Europe’s leading wire rod manufactures and a member of Mittal Steel, the worlds largest steel producer. Coil is shipped in from Hamburg to our own quayside for manufacture into fabric reinforcement and cold reduced wire products.

The company began production in 1988 with an initial capacity of 20,000 tpa but after several large investments, in 1998 and 2005, manufacturing output has been increased to an excess of 130,000 tpa. This growth has allowed Mittal Steel Kent Wire to become the leading manufacturer of fabric reinforcement and a specialist manufacturer of cold reduced steel wire for the reinforcement of concrete throughout the UK, Ireland and Norway.

All British and Norwegian standard fabric types can be produced and special fabrics are available up to sheet a size of 12 metres long x 3.2 metres wide. Wire is also available in layer wound coils of diameters 5mm to 12mm, with weights ranging from 200kg to 1750kg, or in straights of various weights and lengths. This wire can be supplied in mild or hardened plain round, indented or ribbed. In either form, products can be tailored to suit customer’s requirements and all products are fully tested to ensure conformity with the British Standard, CARES and Kontrollradet certification.
