The Concrete Centre provides a new national focus for excellence in concrete design and construction that will allow designers and constructors to realise the full potential of this versatile and high performance material. It will achieve this by assisting all members of the project team to know all about the concrete options avaiable and be a reservoir of information on the material. This will assist them to improve their own design and construction efficiency, effectiveness and profitability.

Established as a result of the 'Concrete Thinking' initiative, The Concrete Centre embraces all the principles set out in the 'Rethinking Construction' and 'Accelerating Change' reports: reduction of costs, improvement in design and construction efficiency, assistance with innovation and integration of the supply chain. Embracing these principles means that The Concrete Centre will take concrete forward via inspiration, innovation and information.

The Centre provides a range of services that include a national telephone helpline, world class education and training programmes, a national network of regional offices and advisors, provision of a strategic focus for research and information dissemination and a programme of industry events. The Concrete Centre is not a trade association but a professional body, acts as a focal point for concrete collaboration and partnership that will benefit both those who specify and use concrete and those who supply cement and concrete products.
