about concrete pipeline systems association

The Concrete Pipeline Systems Association (formerly the Concrete Pipe Association) was formed in 1932, by a group of manufacturers keen to pool their knowledge and experience in the development of precast concrete pipes for the benefit of the nation’s developing infrastructure.

The change of name in 2002 was to reflect the fact that members did not just make pipes, but also made other interrelated products such as manholes, gullies, adjustment units and caissons, to name but a few. The association recognises that it is the ‘pipeline systems’ performance not the pipe itself, that is the most important issue for the client.

The CPSA has 7 full member companies who account for almost 100% of precast concrete pipe and manhole manufacture in Great Britain and Northern Ireland. Members range from family-run businesses to divisions of large international companies. All members provide exceptional technical support and first class customer service. In addition the CPSA has 10 associate members who supply equipment and materials used in the production of concrete pipes and manholes.

All full members operate a Third Party Certification Scheme for their products as a condition of CPSA membership. Their product ranges are extensive and are made using modern production techniques such as high frequency vibration casting. The CPSA is closely involved in the preparation of the new product standards, both British and European and this helps to ensure that precast concrete pipelines comply with all current and emerging product standards. In practice CPSA member companies mark their products with the "Kitemark" symbol where applicable standards exist.
